I feel I’m most productive when I block out everyone and everything, which is why I made the decision to nab myself some new Audio Technica cans on the recommendation from a colleague who has the same pair.
Initially, I’d brought my red Beats by Dre (Solo HD) to work thinking they would do the job but I found that after a few hours of wear, my ears would start to hurt for two-ish reasons:
- The ear cups were way too small
- The headphones themselves were waaaaay too tight
- The previous reason was probably because my head is too big for the headphones that are seemingly marketed towards the younger peeps with smaller heads?
Plus, who wants to wear headphones that your ex bought you anyway? Just kidding. I don’t really care about that, but really, the quality of those headphones were questionable.
Anyway, I’m so glad I bought these Audio-Technica headphones because the sound quality is noticeably a lot better than many other headphones I’ve tried (though, I’ve not tried very many). The fact that these are closed studio headphones make them even more appealing because it does wonders for all the acoustic tracks on my play lists!
I was going to get the white ones because they’re so pretty! But then I thought harder about it and realised how quickly they’d get dirty from my grubby fingers and my overall inability to take care of my belongings, so I decided to get the limited edition dark green pair which another colleague of mine had.
So now, there’s three pairs of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones in our office!
A quick shoutout to soundseasy.com.au for the speedy delivery! I rocked up to this morning and felt like making the order, so I did so at around 9:30 AM and the delivery man dropped them off a little after 12 PM! How’s that for service, hey!?
I should probably note that my delivery address was in Pyrmont and according to the Sounds Easy website, they’re situated in the North Shore which likely played a part in the quick turnaround time.
I’m not going to review them because frankly, I don’t know sh#t about headphones. All I know is these ATH-M50x headphones have amazing sound, and that if you don’t mind spending $189 AUD on headphones, then just do iiiiit!
